Hitler-Naming Dad Shows Up To Custody Hearing Dressed Like Hitler

nazicourtappearance

The New Jersey man who is fighting to regain custody of his children, showed up to court in full Hitler costume.  If you do not remember this man, he was the one who named his children Adolf Hitler Campbell and JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell.

Heath Campbell, founder of the Hitler’s Order hate group, appeared earlier this week at a Flemington, New Jersey courthouse for a closed hearing on his request for visitation with his youngest child, a two-year-old boy.

In November 2011, the child and three other siblings were taken into custody by state welfare officials, who accused Campbell and his wife of child abuse. Campbell has claimed that he never neglected his children, saying that they were seized by the state solely due to the their names.

When asked if wearing the Nazi uniform would hurt him in the eyes of the Family Court judge, Campbell stated, “Well, if they’re good judges, and they’re good people, they’ll look within and not what’s on the outside.”

There were other signs in the home of abuse, but even if there were not any other signs these children should have still been removed from the home.  Using your children to make a statement, any statement, is not alright.  How are they suppose to live their lives with names like Hitler and Aryan Nation?  It is dangerous.  Just as Heath Campbell is extremely passionate about his beliefs, so are other people.  I can only imagine what some people would do to someone named Aryan Nation.

Heath Campbell had originally stated that he was giving up his participation in hate groups to regain custody of his children.  I guess that idea went right out the window.  It is clear that he is choosing his beliefs over his children and they should not be returned to him.

What do you think?  Should he be given visitation rights?  Should he regain custody of his children?

  1. Wow. I’m just flabbergasted. I don’t know what to say. Will be back when I’m done pinching myself to see if this is a dream or not.

  2. I actually have no words. That is child abuse. I hope he never sees them again.

  3. Ok so backstory to how I found out about this family.
My husband has a German last name, though his family has been in the U.S. since the 1600’s. We were looking for boys names that had ‘wolf’ associated with the meaning and ‘Adolf’ was one of the first that came up. ‘Adolf’ means ‘noble wolf.’ Unfortunately we decided that we could never name our son that because of the very bad reputation given to the name by Adolf Hitler. I actually was idly doing some Google research to see if it was an accepted name anywhere and found this story. So our son did not get named Adolf, but we did have it as an ongoing joke that we would name him that, mostly to see our family squirm and protest. 🙂
It is sad how one person can ruin a name so badly. I like the name Adolf but would never name my children it due to the history now associated with it. However these parents have def. gone too far with their children’s names. It is likely that they support the Nazi party, which still does have some members underground.

    • I completely agree! It is just a name when you come right down to it! The same goes for the name Damien. Just a name but “The Omen” changed that. Now I can only think of the devil when I hear it!
